Mid-December Musings

How about the beach in the winter? The morning with the sun slanting its way across your brow; your shadows angle off to the ground as the cold breeze singes your nose. The waves crash and the birds fly and there is nothing else in that moment, nothing else which is needed for the mind to rest in the Now.

The Age of Reason is over. It will be integrated and subordinated back into its proper place: as a tool to discover the good. Reason is good, but reason is not the Good. It is an idol, and that mirage has wrought havoc upon our senses. Let the rational and irrational war upon each other within your soul. As long as they are subordinated within the good, they shall come out of the battle weary yet endowed with the discernment of the ages.

Fear is an inhibitor or depressant. The concomitant desire to escape fear is an accelerator or stimulant. This is a closed loop, one which never provides peace or joy. Closed loops are antithetical to life; closed loops are birth and rebirth and that is a synonym for death. Choose life.

How can you know what the real is unless you already know what a mask is. If you cannot distinguish the artificial, then you are nothing but a reed shifting in the wind.
